Hello roshie here and welcome back. Today I will be talking about a well-known subject, dinosaurs! If you would like to be a paleontologist then read on to find out more!
Millions of years ago, dinosaurs roamed the earth.Dinosaurs are very smart, they have a good sense of smell and eyesight, which makes them good hunters. There are different types of dinosaurs, carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. You probably know there are different types of dinosaurs. Meat eaters, dinosaurs from different times and places, and different scientific classifications.
Dinosaurs became extinct about 65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period.
So, carnivores are animals that only eat meat, however, some dinosaurs were carnivores. They had to be slim, speedy, strong and intelligent to hunt their prey. This evidence has been shown by fossils and multiple scientists. Spinosaurus was the largest meat eater at this time.It lived during the ceratosaurus period in North Africa. It is belived that this dinosaur lived on land and water and also it ate fish.
Herbivores usually ate all the vegetation they could find.It was common for herbivores to favour a paticular type of vegitation, although some were not that fussy. As herbivores ate a large amount of plants they needed a long intestine in order to digest all of that food. These animals also swallowed stones that moved around in their tummy to help grind down the food they ate.
The longest dinosaur is thought to be over 40 metres,it is called the Argentinosaurus.Over 700 species of dinosaurs have been discovered and named. But paleontologists belive that there are many more still to be descovered.
